Dubai: Dubai Internet City (DIC), among the largest Information and Communications Technology (ICT) company parks in the Middle East and North Africa region, is celebrating its 15th anniversary now.
DIC is a member of Dubai Holding and a part of Tecom Investments.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum declared the production of Dubai Internet City in Gitex 1999.
Built within a free trade zone as a knowledge-oriented firm design, DIC has developed a booming ecosystem for tech businesses and now is home to Fortune 500 listed firms in hardware, software, internet providers and ICT businesses in addition to international multinationals, local small- and midsize enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups.
Since the launching of DIC, Majed Al Suwaidi, Managing Director of Dubai Internet City and Dubai Outsource Zone, informed Gulf News the UAE's ICT market has also gone from strength to strength, which may result from the government's unwavering dedication to driving Dubai's growth as a"global hub for connectivity and company", and dedication to driving the development of the ICT industry as a crucial component of Dubai's broader economic improvement.
With just 100 businesses, Dubai Internet City started Back in 2000 and ever since that time it has become home from the ICT value chain.
Tecom's ICT Cluster welcomed 181 businesses, and a range of those Fortune 500 businesses This past year.
